Advertise with THEsmallCOMPANYBLOG

Truth be told, advertising is something I never considered when I started this blog.  But 100,000 words and 11,000 followers later, requests for advertising are starting to filter in—so some kind of structure is probably a good idea.

Below are three screen shots of a typical article on this blog, along with available ad spaces.  Note that your ad will appear in ALL articles in the same spot, and all ad spots are exclusive . . . meaning I won’t rotate ads in with a bunch of others.  And even if you prefer to use a text ad, it must be submitted as an appropriately-sized image.

Ad Positions in the Top 1/3 of the Site

A:  Retweets – This isn’t an ad position . . . but it should give you an idea as to the popularity of each article, and of this blog in general.  At a low average of 500 followers per Retweeter, this one article was conservatively promoted to well over 100,000 people-and this blog has almost 70 articles total. Also, articles are regularly promoted by Microsoft Small Business, LegalZoom, The American Management Association, The Social Media Guide and The RainMaker Report—one of the largest Marketing and Sales newsletters in the world.

B: Begin Post Placement ($29.50 per month) – This is a 125 x 125 pixel ad spot, and appears at the very beginning of each article on this blog.

C: Header Banner ($39.50 per month) – A 468 x 60 pixel horizontal spot, at the very top of every page and article on this blog.

D: Sidebar Buttons ($24.50 per month) – A 125 x 125 pixel button ad, in the sidebar of every page and article on this blog.  Although the example shows four spots, I will take up to six (6) of these placements-but no more.

Ad Positions in the Middle 1/3 of the Site

E: Mid-Post Window ($39.50 per month) – A 250 x 250 pixel window placement, in the middle of each article on this site.

F: Sidebar Mini-Tower ($24.50 per month) – A 125 x 250 pixel tower placement, in the sidebar of every page and article on this blog, near the middle of the article.  Twice as much area as the sidebar buttons (D above) for the same price.

Ad Positions: Bottom 1/3 of Site

G: End-Post Placement ($19.50 per month) – This is a 125 x 125 pixel spot, and appears at the very end of each article on the site. Same as the Begin Post Placement (B above) but lower on the page . . . and 10 bucks cheaper.  Not currently used in the example above, but you get the picture.

H: Related Articles Banner ($19.50 per month) – A 468 x 60 pixel horizontal placement (no example above) centered between the Related Articles block and the Author Bio in every article on the site.  Again, not currently used in the example above, but easy to imagine.

I: Bottom Sidebar Button ($14.50 per month) – A 125 x 125 pixel button placement in the sidebar of every page on this blog, immediately below the “Categories” section.  The least expensive ad we offer, and not yet pictured in the example above.

Booking and Paying for An Advertisement

One of my claims to Internet marketing fame is that I was buying banner ads on Hotmail back when it was owned by a kid named Sabeer Bhatia . . . who, incidentally, sold his company to Bill Gates for $400 million and change.  The point is, I’ve been buying web ads for a long time, and want this to be much easier than most companies make it out to be.

With this in mind, here’s the deal: if you’re interested, simply email me and request availability for a specific ad spot (or spots) using the ad names above.  If an ad you want is available, you pay for one month at a time via PayPal.  When each month is up, you either renew by paying for the upcoming month, or walk away.  No contract, no long-term commitment, no sales people to deal with, and very little financial risk—less than 40 bucks for the most expensive ad spot on the list, or less than 15 bucks for the least expensive.
