Eric:
Congratulations on making that 1st year mark and learning from the experience. I'm not there yet, but believe that the learning curve is the most valuable tool that comes with blogging. I totally agree with being more selective with Twitter 'follows'. My first clue that I probably won't follow back is when the new 'friend' has blocked messaging capabilities. That just screams out that this person is not the least bit interested in building a relationship, but gathering names and addresses to 'talk at' and sell to. Seems quite 'unsocial' to me.

Keep up the good work in Year 2.

Brilliant Eric - your wry insight has cheered up a somewhat challenging day! At www.questblog.com we have the 'cobbler's children' syndrome in that we are too busy writing and managing our clients blogs to focus on our own. Despite being a natural communicator (I think!!), I struggled initially with being conversational because I was so much into the mode of beefy business writing. Keeping focused is also crucial - the adage 'least is most' is key and yes, it is best to choose a few key themes and stick at them. Thanks masses for this and as I plan my blog tomes I await your filing tool with bated breath!
